A field guide from Vinogradišće bay · Spring 2026
Palmižana sits on Sveti Klement, the largest of the Pakleni Islands, ten minutes by boat from Hvar town. There is no bridge, no ferry queue and no car access: every arrival ends with a short crossing, and that crossing is the point at which the holiday actually begins.
Palmižana is reached by boat from Hvar town: ten minutes across the channel by taxi-boat or private transfer. Coming from the mainland, you fly to Split (SPU), reach Hvar by road and catamaran or by direct transfer, and cross from Hvar town. There are no cars on the island, and you will not miss them.
From Split airport
Fly to Split (SPU), the nearest airport to Hvar and the Pakleni Islands. From there, guests of the residences have the whole journey arranged by the estate: a private transfer of about 90 minutes by road and catamaran to Hvar town, then the boat crossing to the bay. You choose the time; the concierge does the rest. Door to bay, most of Europe is within four to five hours.
From Hvar town
Taxi-boats run from Hvar harbour all day in season, and the crossing to Palmižana takes about ten minutes. The boats leave from the western side of the harbour; in high summer they go every half hour or so, and any skipper will know Vinogradišće bay. A private transfer can also be arranged for any hour, including late arrivals after dinner on Hvar.
By your own boat
ACI Marina Palmižana on Sveti Klement is one of the best-known marinas in the Adriatic, open from spring through autumn. From your berth, the walk through the pine to Vinogradišće bay takes about five minutes. Many guests sail in for lunch and stay for the evening; a table at Zori Restaurant can be booked online with instant confirmation.
The crossing is short. The distance, longer.
Once you are here
There are no cars on Palmižana. The island is footpaths, pine and rosemary, and everything at Zori, the four residences, the restaurant and the bay itself, sits within a few minutes' walk. Luggage is carried for you from the jetty. From the moment you step off the boat, the only schedule left is the light.
